What emo means to me

Emo is sadly misunderstood,

Represented by the 'emos' and 'punks'.

But emo is simply a way of life,

That some adopt and live by.

It meant empathy and emotions,

And everything in between.

To take a chance helping someone,

And getting hurt in the process.

I can't help but choose it,

For it is just me.

My emotions just ignored my mind,

Overruled my logic.

I don't wear black eyeliner,

Or wear leg warmers,

But I am still an emo,

And accept it wholeheartedly.
