Melancholy

Soft melody drifted through
From the curtains.
Melancholy fills the dark.
Sadness coloured the tune.

I stared into the distance.
Someone, somewhere,
Sitting on the piano bench,
Touching the ivory keys,
Is crying, is crying..

Playing the tune of life,
Is like playing a piece
That hates and tortures.
Playing the tune of sorrow,
Is like playing a piece
That scorns and despises..

-Darkness enveloped my music,
It claimed my soul.-

Only like-minded people
Understands my sorrow,
Knows the depth of my pain
Like the transition of light to dark
Similar to the surrender of the day.
I long for the comfort of the night,
Where solace dwells.

Once grasp the chance at light,
But it was too bright.
It burnt my skin,
Hurt my pride.
Destroyed my self,
Confused my mind.
It was just not 'me'
Too just-a-facade.

Deep, dark.
Mysterious, mystical.
Enticing, enchanting.
Shadows..
Almost clear.
Ironic pleasures,
The one that tires me,
Brings me joy
And reality.
Oh, how can I forgo it?
